WORSHIP & MUSIC
Here’s some information you may find helpful if you’re
planning a visit:
Where are you located?
The main campus of Bremen UMC is located just west of downtown Bremen on Plymouth Street (SR 106). We are exactly two blocks west of the stoplight at Plymouth and Center streets.
Our 9:15 a.m. service is held at the main campus.
Our 10:30 a.m. iGnite is held at our Student Center located three blocks straight north of the main campus at the corner of North Montgomery and West Mill streets
Where can I park?
Main Campus: Parking is available behind the church along Montgomery street; on Montgomery and Plymouth streets or in the parking lot at First Federal Savings Bank one-half block east of the church.
Student Center: A parking lot is located immediately east of the church or along the street.
How long is each worship service?
Typically each service lasts about one hour.
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable. Some people dress up while others wear more casual clothes. Everyone is welcome and the most important thing is that you feel “at home.”
Is there a place for my children during the service?
Main Campus: A nursery is available for infants while elementary-age children can attend “Kids Own Worship” which begins after the Children’s Chat during worship. Busy Bags are also available if you would like your child to stay with you.
Student Center: Nursery Care is available in the lower level at the bottom of the south stairs. "Kids Own Worship" is held for smaller children (toddler to 3rd grade) next to the Nursery, throughout the service. Children, 4th grade and older will remain in the worship service.
Do I have to be a member of Bremen United Methodist Church to take Communion?
Everyone is welcome at the Communion table – kids and adults; whether a member of this or any church. “Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him; who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.”
Here's what you can expect on Sunday morning:
9:15 a.m. - Traditional Worship
When you come at 9:15, you will experience a more traditional worship setting. The hymns we sing are more classical hymns based on the theme of the day.
The Choir sings special music and once-a-month, our Handbell Choir shares a number.
Children play a special role in the worship service. Following a Children's Chat with the pastor (or Captain Bob, Miss Jill or Miss Lori), the kids (up to 5th grade) are dismissed to the lower level for Kids Own Worship (KOW time), a worship experience designed just for them.
We celebrate Holy Communion the second Sunday of the month.
10:30 a.m. - iGnite Praise Worship
The later service is informal. The music is led by our praise band and features more contemporary praise songs.
Children have a special place in this service as well and are invited to their own KOW time (Kids Own Worship). This is for children thru 3rd grade.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month.
Our hope and prayer is that when you visit Bremen UMC for the first time, you feel warmly welcomed; that you hear a word of encouragement and that you experience God's presence during worship. |
